  • COTTON IS SOFT FULLT STABLE FIBRE WHICH IS EPIDERMAL HAIR OF GOSSYPLUM. JUTE IS SECOND MOST IMPORTANT FIBRE AND MOST AFFORDABLE NATURAL FIBRES. THESE ARE COMPOSED OF THE PLANT MATERIALS CELLULOSE AND LIGNIN
  • FLEX FIBRE IS EXTRACTED FROM THE BAST OF THE STEM OF THE FLEX PLANT. IT IS STRONGER THAN COTTON FIBRE.
  • GINGER AND TURMERIC (SPICE) ARE OBTAINED FROM FAMILY–ZINGIBERACEAE. CLOVE IS ONE OF THE OLDEST SPICES IN THE WORLD AND IS THE DRIED UNRIPED AND UNOPENED FLOWER BUD
  • SUCROSE IS USED AS TABLE SUGAR. SOME OTHER ECONOMICALLY IMPORTANT SEED PLANT INCLUDES MAIZE WHEAT., RICE AND SORGHUM AND MAINLY FORAGE CROPS. THE MAIN PRODUCT OF SUGARCANE IS SUCROSE.

  • PARA RUBBER IS OBTAINED FROM HEVEA BRASILIENSIS AND INDIAN RUBBER IS OBTAINED FROM FICUS ELASTIC.
  • KATHHA IS OBTAINED  FROM ACACIA CATECHU (FAMILY–MIMOSACEAE)
  • THE CORK FROM QUERCUS SUBER IS USED AS BOTTLE STOPPER, SOLES FOR SHOES, INSULATING MATERIAL etc.
  • MAHOGANY WOOD (SWIETENIA MAHOGANI) FAMILY – MELIACEAE IS USED FOR FURNITURE AEROPLANE PROPELLERS, SHIP BUILDING etc.
  • APART FROM PLANTS, CERTAIN MICROORGANISMS ARE ALSO USED TO OBTAIN ECONOMICALLY IMPORTANT PRODUCTS SUCH AS ANTIBIOTICS, ALCOHOL, VITAMINS, ORGANIC ACIDS etc.
